east_is_east

[cert 15, 96 mins]

Based on an original stage play East is East tackles
the question of racism and looks at the issues of
ethnic and cultural differences within today’s multi-
cultural society.
George, a Muslim from Pakistan has married Ella, a
Catholic from Salford. They have seven children and
are running a fish and chip shop near their home.
The children are caught between the strict
traditions imposed by their father and the
excitements and temptations of being “normal”
teenagers in the 1970s.
